One of those potato or pumpkin cannons on Zeds? You know, just for target practice? Maybe even one of those chicken cannons they test aircraft cockpit windows with?
Any math folks around to determine how fast the average vegetable or fowl could go before disintegrating in the barrel?
One of those large russet baking potatoes could do serious damage on people, let alone Zeds.....

Potato cannons can have pretty high velocity, depending on what type/how much propellant you use. Could be enough to at least knock the head off of a zed.
