Ok, my Winter Pitch...

So, here I go...

At start on the primitive level:

Snowshoes... definite plus
Pull sleds... displaces weight somewhat adequately for human conveyance
Dog Sleds with Teams...significant bonus in capacity, speed, and distance

A basic start on options, let us discuss further...

Dog sleds?
Gotta train the dogs, equip them, then feed them.
Not being a negative Nancy here, but unless you're experienced in these things, and have the resources, that sounds like a major non-starter.
The rest of it sounds very doable though.
I would also throw X-country skis into the mix. Not that hard to master and under the right conditions would make traveling much faster and easier than show shoes.

Snow shoes and pull sleds are a great idea. That could solve a lot of potential headaches, and probably keep you a few toes as well.

Unfortunately, dog sled teams are anything but basic. A good way toblise most of your supplies when the team throws an inexperienced rider and takes off. You'd be better off without them unless you are an experienced, seasoned driver, which you may be. But the average Joe couldn't handle a dog sled team.

Perhaps a snow mobile, or a quad with snow tracks if you have the opportunity to switch them form tires when the snow melts.

Use Tibetan Mastiffs as your sled dogs.

You mean a PAW scenario? That's a lot of dogs to feed with scarce supplies.

The dog sled part was just there as an already available possibility that a Forumer might be involved with. As an example, our esteemed Norwegian member could have indulged in a myriad of snowbound options.

Haven't seen Dragoon around in some time as well I was thinking to myself...

We're talking about rhetorical questions at the present, why would this conjectural subject be any different? People want to talk, so let's have at it!

Snow Shoes?
Well I suppose they might work in mud.
You are referring to that Urban Myth about fluffy white stuff falling out of the sky again aren't you?

You know if the ZPAW is infected humans not undead humans dogs would be easily fed.
They would become the new wolves.

Cross country skis are awesome. I learned to use them during my unit's mountain warfare training two years ago. We also had pull sleds, which are not fun to take down a hill on skis. However, loading it up with extra food, nonessential gear, extra ammo, and stuff like that is a good idea. That way if you have to cut and run, you still have whatever you can carry on your back. In snowy, mountainous places, snow shoes or cross country skis are almost a necessity.
In non snowy areas, a wagon would be good for the same.
