No batteries. However, you can fully charge it by mains electricity.

Therefore, the crank-charge facility can be used as a back-up when full charge fades and no electric power to recharge.

Yes, books are knowledge indeed. Much of the contents can't be done/afforded here, but at least I'll know more than other survivors, also allowing me to maybe discuss more about them on the forum.

Hoping to glaze my greenhouse this year and get into the way of growing my own food.

Even acquired lengths of quality wood which I store in the house, as you never know when you might need to do a NOTLD and board up doors and windows for extra security against zeds. Even keep my cordless drill batteries charged and acquired a vast assortment of screws, as they hold better than nails.

Slowly but surely I'm learning and trying to be practical too.

Don't forget to learn how to find the wall studs. Otherwise you'll be poking holes everywhere trying to find them under severe stress. If possible you should reinforce exterior doors and especially the door frames.
