Opposite coasts, you and I. For you it's "dude" and for the southerners it's "y'all". I personally prefer "you guys", but I'm a transplant from the north.

It's going well. School is still kicking my ass, but it's a good kind. And best of all, I got word yesterday that the VA finally came through. I've been rated 100% total and permanent, finally.

What would be the downside of pelts and hides? Since that's my plan, I'd like to know.

For a starter, it is heavy.
Grunt in the cavalry.
Expert in freezing my balls off and falling on snowshoes.

Lead should be kept in the air at anytime.

I have family on my dad's side that wear it sometimes and they claim to love it once it's broken in. I imagine one would get used to the weight and it seems cheaper then buying gear. My dad was half apache.

Hides also get yucky when they are wet--slimy. Unless you know how to cure them correctly, they also smell.
