Cowboy Leather Wrist Cuffs/Forearm Guards

Postby LoneWolf » Wed Jul 16, 2014 4:31 pm

Anyone think this might be okay protection against a zed ?

Cowboy leather wrist cuffs/forearm guards, reaching from wrist to almost 2/3rds to elbow, maybe under/on top of jacket sleeves ?

Perhaps custom made with thicker leather.

Yes they would. I had a pair covered in chainmail that I gave to my nephew, NO WAY would a zombie ever get through those!

I gave a guy I work with most of my old SCA stuff/armor about 6 months ago.
The only thing I really regret parting with is a pair of leather and steel vambrace.

Excellent images Bob !

You know, for all there is a lot of tac equipment available nowadays, with my studying military history, etc., I like the idea of using mixed-era gear in a ZA, right from medieval onwards.

Hence why I have shields nearby. ;)

Even padded armor, training and/or protective gear can be very useful. It is light, yet very useful against people and your average everyday animals.

Funny, I made something similar to that out of 550 cord the other day. Anyone who has ever used this stuff can tell you how durable it is, and woven like I did it, I think it would be pretty tough.

Looks like somebody has a bit of time on their hands :-)

Pretty cool KN!

I bet they are pretty tough, I doubt anything without pointy canines could bite through those...
