Try a one-piece Leupold mount. I love mine.

I was looking at some one piece options. Im going to do a few things with that rifle; pg stock, muzzle brake, possibly a detachable magazine option, as well as an optic upgrade. Ive been rocking a bushnell bannner 3-9x for a year now. Im not a fan. Been looking long and hard between a vortex, redfield and nikon prostaff

You should be able to attach a short picatinny rail to the receiver. That would open up more options for mounting optics.

Very true.
I bought my 700 used (only fired 14 rounds). The previous owner kept the glass but left on the mount and iron sights.

I'm really, really liking this maxpedition pouch. I can carry enough for a very minimal E&E kit in it and it is easily concealable under a jacket or tshirt, and even fits nicely in a large coat pocket. For $21 on Amazon, I would recommend it to anyone that's interested.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said "I need a caretaker."
So God made a farmer.

My school backpack is Maxpedition and I love it. Excuse my ignorance, but what is an E&E kit? Escape and Evasion? Regardless, I would wager that anything from that company is going to be a solid buy.

Picked up a pair of cheap LED headlamps and 200 feet of paracord from scheels. The preparedness chest is becoming more and more promising. Also picked up some shooting gloves
