Motorbikes

Postby SoB » Sat Nov 09, 2013 7:07 am

Ok, I have put some though in to it and decided they not a bad idea. Now I am not talking about supperbicks, scooters, choppers, cruissers or any thing of that natuer. I am talking about off road scramblers.

Now I will explian why I think they a good choice.

Bike vs car(this is all civlian cars up to the more urban SUVs)
Vs horse

Car pros
Protecstion from the elments
Capacity both in terms of gear and people
Can doubel has shelter in a pinch
Some protecstion from zombies.

Bik pros
Light weight, one man could push it.
Cross country moblity(it can go any where)
Easy of use
Maintaince
Nimble
Light on fuel

Horse pro
No need for fuel
Can carry you whil you sleep
Compianship
Cross country moblity

Car con
Needs Fuel
Maintance
Need some training
Cross country moblity(not by cross country I mean no roads not poor roads)
Stealth

Bike con
You can be knocked or pulled off
Accdents are worse of than in a car
Carrys max 2 people or 1 with gear
Does still need fuel

Horse con
Need lots of training
You can't combin 2 dead horse to make a living one unlik with cars and bikes
They can get sick and die
Maintancethorses need far more care than a car or bike)
Accedents are the same has bikes
Can be pulled or kocked off
It can be frightened

Over all. With out proper knowldge a horse is a bad idea and cars are good for long distance. Bikes are bad for long distance how ever there size means if you have a truck or a trailer you can move in a car and have a bike. Once at a Bol they far more stealthy than a car and got mor moblitie meaning great for patrols and scouting out areas. So there is no resean to not have 1 but plenty of resoans to have one.

Note. Do not travel in cities with a bike or horse. Even a small group of zeds can ruin your day. Aka walking dead S1E1 better to use them in the rural areas where you got more dirrecstion in witch to escape and less places for them to hide.

Bicycles, especially mountain bikes, might be actually pretty viable options- they'll sure keep you in shape as well!

Why am I laughing, I need to get off of my ass!
Time to get up, you're not dead yet...

but you certainly will be if you don't move your ass!

I think you make a false comparison, SoB, Comparing a dirt bike to a street car is akin to comparing a horse to a tricycle. A comparison to an SUV or similar off-road capable vehicle would have been better One other con for a dirt bike; they are notoriously loud.. But you do make some good points for a motorcycle.

A off road bike still trumps a off road SUV or pickup. The only diffrence is that the off road car does not suck at it just that the off road bike is better at it. Persnaly I would take a toyata landcrusser with a off road bik in the back. The rear area is big enough for one and supplys for 5 people.

The one thing I never get from zombie movies and shows is just how blocked the streets will be. Going off road will be a fact.

I agree. A Landcruiser would be an excellent choice.

There aren't many other commercial vehicles that are as good. I've been looking to buy a Toyota Tacoma 4WD truck.

While I had to look it up but it seems like the american version of the hilux and landcruiser. And if it is good enough for the US speciol forces I would say get one.

Anyone know of theres a such thing as a single-cylinder diesel motorcycle? I thought I heard of the military using a diesel dirtbike but im not sure.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said "I need a caretaker."
So God made a farmer.
