Icepick vs Blade

Keep in mind that classically speaking all it takes to put down a Zombie is to penetrate the skull.
This was proven by Roger in the original Dawn of the Dead when he put down the handyman Zombie with a screwdriver through the ear.

Which would you consider to be better, an icepick or a knife?

While icepicks are not as common as they once were they are still easy to get.
Hell even Bed Bath and Beyond has them.
Places that don't have icepicks such as Lowes or Home Depot have lots of scratch awls which are basically the same thing.
If you are not familiar with either you can think of a scratch awl as a high quality icepick with a larger / stronger spike.

I would take a knife, because there's more uses to it than just a weapon.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said "I need a caretaker."
So God made a farmer.

Ice picks would be very effective for that single purpose, but not much else.

I agree with UD as a weapon it would do the job but for anything else it leaves much to be desired.

I think it would be easier to penetrate with a spike.

Which would be more likely to get stuck and have to be abandoned?

Wouldnt the icepick be easier to get in and out of the skull? unless maybe it bent.

If it didn't bend. But is the icepick large enough to do the job? Roger used a screwdriver, which has a blade much larger than an icepick. Seems to me you'd have to ram the pick in and then twist it around to destroy the brain.

True a screwdriver has a larger blade however all he seemed to do was penetrate.
There must be some sort of pressure in the cranium that once it is relieved the reanimation is ended.
