Blades!

Postby UnderDude » Fri Nov 08, 2013 1:39 am

My go-to knives are.....

EDC
CRKT M1 Lightfoot folder

Woods
Ontario Air Force Model with 5.5 inch blade. Very inexpensive, nice handle, nice sheath, and a beefy blade.
Backup is the Gerber Profile. Probably the best grip of any knife I've held.
I'm also very fond of the Gerber Camp Axe. But I did need to add some skateboard tape to the handle, it was just too slippery after a few swings.

As you can see I like cheap stuff. I do own a few Benchmade folders but they're just too high dollar, I'm always worried about damage.

And then some of my pokey-stabby things:

The latter pic is a couple of years old...I've since added a couple of cool new toys. Will update when I get a roun-tuit.

I've since added two more 10" camp knives, another Leatherman, (I have two), and 3-4 folders...
Going to order my BK-7 next week...I'm so excited!!!

I live in "steel-vana", otherwise known as Portland, Oregon...blades are in our blood here.

Besides, I gotta have enough spare knives to equip my troops for the trek to Serenity :-)

Late '80's production Gerber BMF. Bad Mother F**ker!
They don't make 'em anymore.
It's one of my most prized possessions. Given to me by a buddy who went to the Naval Academy, (now a Colonel in the USMC).

All I have is a leatherman :(

I do have access to axes and hatchets on the boat. We actualy have quiet a lot of them for some resoane. More than we would use in normal operastion. Though come to think of it the axes normal job is remove limbs in a emergancy so best not ever need to use it.

Mk II actually... It's just a shitty picture.
Bought it at a gunshow in the early '90's for like $20.
Has the original leather sheath with the web belt hangers.

I looked up the serial number on a Gerber blades website, it's a 1982 production. Sharp as f*ck. I love it.

Funny story...at that same gunshow I came across an original 1917 cutlass in fantastic condition. The dude wanted $40 for it.
At the time I REALLY wanted some tiger stripe cammies, so instead of buying the cutlass I went ahead and bought the clothes.
I still kick myself to this day for that decision. The clothes have long since worn out and gone away, that cutlass would still be mine...since then, I have not seen one for under $200.
