I'd say marketable skills are medical, brewing, tailoring, blacksmith, mechanic, electrician for a while, security, cooking, and some others.
I'm one that's hoping to keep my motel open when SHTF for travelers. I doubt highways will get used for travel as much as the old business routes and we sit right on a business route.

I have far more lortab than I will ever take.
I sort of outgrew it with a supply on hand.
Percocet fortunately still works.

I have a stash of batteries, 550 cord, electrical tape, lighters, matches, duct tape, rubber gloves and candles for bartering. Simple stuff that doesn't take up a lot of space, and doesn't cost a lot to stock up on.

I imagine, as a nonsmoker, getting as many cigarettes as possible would be a clever bartering move. Though, if that time came, getting cigarettes might be the end of me. I have no skills to trade so I'm dependent on leverage and materialism :)

I'm not sure how long cigarettes would last.
I remember from back when I smoked they would go stale even if unopened.
Not that they generally lasted me long enough to go stale.
I suppose one would get used to smoking stale cigarettes and they would seem normal after a while.

Anyone who smokes the real cheap brands would smoke stale ones, cigarettes will be viable for trade for a decent amount of time.

I have a carton of cigs in the fridge, and a plastic jug of coffee in the freezer, along with a collection of wine and beer. I imagine that those could fetch a hefty price about 3 months in when people's habits are driving them crazy.
