Do you have any packed with your gear? If so, what exactly? What could be lightweight, compact, and valuable to somebody else?
Not talking of food, water, weapons, or ammo. More like luxury items and vices. Perhaps any tool you could spare or if you have a duplicate.
I already have the following in my gear.....
Tobacco (smokeless as well) and rolling papers.
Sugar, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili powder, cinnamon, and condiment packages.
Tea
Coffee (instant as well)
Toilet Paper (I have a great way to compact an entire roll into about 10% of its original size.

Other things that would work.....
Medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
And many street drugs as well.

I have way too many Vicodin. I could easily use those to barter with.

Those would fetch a hefty price in a PAW.

I have raspberries and concord grapes for alcohols, jams and pastries, enough backyard for a small wheat patch, and 2-3 sugar maples (not sure about one of them). My group has a multitude of marketable skills. We also grow herbs and foods in the garden. We always have tons of surplus. We already do 2/3 of the family's canning. City ordinance doesn't allow critters so we'd have to hunt, fish, and barter for some critters after ZPAW began. I'd probably trap a handful of rabbits and eat those for a while. I guess someone in a big city could eat pigeons, falcons, rats, and squirrels. Once my neighbors have turned or gone I'll be able to use their houses for barns (after boarding up the windows and securing the structures, of course).

I would imagine that batteries will be worth a king's ransom to unprepared people that are lucky enough to either make it out of a city, or not be in one in the first place. I certainly plan on stocking up on them when I get to the barter section of my apoc-plan

One of those compact solar battery chargers could be worth a lot as well.

I wonder what services could be used for bartering power? Medical care? Dental care? (just for you UD)

Somebody with those skills would be able to barter for a lot I would think.
