MO2 Tactical Military Skull Masks Gov Issue ?

Postby LoneWolf » Sun Jun 29, 2014 8:23 am

Talking about human threats, I was looking at how they might alter their appearance to freak out their opponents, to unsettle as much as the look of 'real' zeds do. Found my path taking me to military images and the showing of soldiers wearing tactical cs skull masks which def would freak out an enemy on a battlefield never mind in civilian streets. Tell me, are they really gov issue and used in combat, instead of standard masks ?

I think he's talking about these:

A balaclava type thingy.

Although, there are way cooler versions:

Mesh eye screens, probably awesome for airsoft.

In answer to the OP, I don't think they're issue. Probably some GIs having fun, being cool for a photo op.
I am sure that in blowing sand and shitty desert conditions, just about anything you can do to keep sand out of your mouth and shredding the skin off your face would be OK...

True. Ever had sand caked around your eyes, nose, and mouth? Terrible feeling. I have a solid black face mask I've worn while shooting in the desert when windy and it still gets through the nose holes.

Mr Knot - yes, it is the second image of the MO2 mask I was meaning. Thanks for posting the photo.

I think they would make any raider group in a ZA more frightening, looking like this, but also as fast as survivors, can think/plan and use weapons.

As mentioned, there is also a black version.

If there was any major vision impairment due to the eye mesh/gauze of the mask, I reckon it could quite easily be removed.
