World War Z

I liked World War Z.
I think I would have liked it better if it had a different name.
It had nothing to do with the book of the same name.

I enjoyed the movie also. It was high action, which is a plus, but I would have liked more zombie gore. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

As long as I didn't equate it to the book I found it a good movie.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. I was quite disappointed actually. My expectations were probably too high.
I'd say a 4/10.

My wife got the book but never finished it. Recently she got the DVD as well. I'm not too keen about watching the movie but I just might have to read the book...

The book and movie are nothing alike.
I enjoyed both.

I agree, it's like I Robot, the book and the movie. The only thing in common is the name.

I was really disappointed by the ending. I thought it was kind of a copp out ending. You can't give yourself a disease and then cure yourself with a vaccicine. It doesn't work that way.

I own the movie, but haven't seen it yet, as I threatened to castrate my brother if he watched it without me. With that, I feel it only fair to not watch it without him.

On another note, I enjoyed the book. A lot. However, I don't expect the movie the be like that, because... well... I don't think it would be a good movie. There's not really a consistent story, and it would confuse audiences that haven't read the book. In a novel like that, you can pull off having a dozen or whatever smaller stories, rather than one big one, but with a movie, there's a much shorter time frame to do so in.

So, as a movie maker, your options are basically

A) Do a single two-hour story
B) Do three smaller stories that don't make sense because you don't have the rest to contextualize from
C) Do every interview that happens in the book, and have a 13-hour movie.

I don't expect the movie to follow the formula, and to be honest, I was a little worried about how it would work when I heard that there was a movie in production.

With all that being said, I have been intentionally putting together a collection of straight-to-dvd zombie movies, so I don't care how bad it is. I love every zombie movie.

All of them have a moment or two.
When you watch World War Z you will enjoy it as long as you go in knowing it does not follow the book at all.
