Not really zombie related, but a great post-EMP attack on the US book. Very realistic into the world of desolation and tragedy following a massive EMP attack. Some great lessons could be learned from this book, anyone who's even remotely interested should pick it up. It's worth a read.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said "I need a caretaker."
So God made a farmer.

I read it a few years ago. Very realistic in its depictions. The fantasy boys who dream about the end of the world should read it.

A week primitive camping in a Deep South summer would pop their bubble.

So true--the south is brutal! I love me some camping! :D

As for the book, I read it earlier this year. It was great! It really depicts the progression of the disaster well. It is a heart-rending story with some great acts of heroism and brutality.

I didn't realize there was a sequel. I looked it up on Amazon and discovered there is another book available in the series also.
