He said it was a rare moment for him but it was still fun.

Bought some .44 magnum ammo yesterday. One box of Winchester jacketed soft points and two boxes of hornady leverevolution.

My assistant has been wanting to shoot my 44.
I keep telling him he has to buy his own ammunition.

Question to whomever knows: are the Hornady rounds more suited to rifle/carbine use? To me the name seems to imply that. If so, are rifle loads something you wouldn't want to use in pistols? Just thinking that unless it were a more sturdy pistol type you wouldn't want to use them in anything but rifles for safety reasons.

The only lever action I have ever owned was a Daisy so I will leave this to more knowledgeable others.

Well, there are a number of rifles and carbines in .44 Magnum. Ruger had a cool semiauto that resembled the 10/22 and both seemed to be patterned from the M1 carbine. It would seem logical that rifles are sturdier than pistols when using heavier ammo loads. On the same token, different pistols may be stronger and more able to handle heavier loads than others as well.

Maybe I am just rambling, things have been more quieter than normal lately. For me that is. Never mind. See, I am rambling...

They were designed for tubular magazines, but also improve ballistics in handguns. It's the only way to improve the BC for lever gun ammo.
I bought some 32 cal 165 gr for my Marlin, just haven't loaded them yet.
